Karen is the previous owner of Camp Green Dog and is fulfilling her childhood dream to work with pets, after 20 years in corporate sales. She began her grooming education with the University of Tennessee, but a philosophy/religion degree didn't train her to groom pets with precision, skill, and creativity.
Karen continued through Penn Foster Animal Behavioral & Grooming College, a personal apprenticeship, and consistent follow-up with continuing education...and while on a one year hiatus, Karen volunteered at several grooming salons throughout South Carolina and Georgia, in order to learn how individual shops uniquely compete in the marketplace.
Karen is a current member of National Association of Professional Pet Groomers, National Association of Creative Dog Groomers, Pet Sitters International, and past member of American Boarding and Kennel Association, and Pet Care Servcies, Inc.
For the last 20 years, she has volunteered her time with animal rescue groups in Tennessee, Georgia, and South Carolina. Her rescue work continues.
